Vaginal Rejuvenation FAQs
What is laser vaginal rejuvenation?
Laser vaginal rejuvenation is performed using a state-of-the-art laser called FemiLift. The fractional carbon dioxide laser is applied with a vaginal probe that’s inserted into your vagina and rotated 360 degrees. The procedure repairs the tissue along the front of your vagina and underneath your bladder. It shrinks a vaginal cavity that’s too large or wide so you experience more sensation during sex. You’ll also experience improvement of the muscle strength in the area, which helps you control your urine more readily.
Does FemiLift hurt?
The process is noninvasive, meaning you won’t have an incision, stitches, or bleeding like a conventional surgery. Instead, the laser lights encourage the production of more collagen, a tissue-building structure, so the vagina becomes stronger and tighter naturally. As a result, you feel only a bit of heat during the procedure. You don’t need any anesthesia or downtime after the procedure.
Who is a good candidate?
Healthy women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s experience grand benefits from the laser procedure. After multiple vaginal births, your vaginal walls have likely stretched out so that sexual intercourse feels less satisfying. You may also lose sensation and muscle strength for urination due to the natural aging process.
You’re best off waiting until you’re done having children – childbirth usually negates the positive effects of the procedure.
What kind of results can I expect?
After 3-4 initial treatments, you should feel tighter in the vaginal region and more in control of your urine flow. You’ll benefit from yearly touch ups to keep the results at their best.
How long after FemiLift can I have sexual intercourse?
You’ll be asked to wait 3 days before engaging in sexual intercourse. Compared to the 3-week wait encouraged after traditional surgical vaginoplasty, it’s considerably manageable.
Is recovery from FemiLift difficult?
Femilift is what’s known as a “lunchtime” procedure. You’re in and out in a short time and can resume almost all your daily activities immediately afterwards. You don’t need to take any time off of work. Femilift comes with no complications or health risks.
